TEAM BONDING PROGRAMS

Sometimes, all a team needs is to have some good, old-fashioned fun together! In our Team Bonding programs, the primary goal is establishing and/or strengthening personal relationships within a team or group. In these programs, the emphasis is placed on fun, personal connection, and spending time together in a non-work atmosphere so that team members can get to know each other and just enjoy being together. Team Bonding is often the starting point for Team Building and Team Development Programs.

Program Goals

At The Adventure Guild and Chattanooga Teams, it’s our goal to exceed our clients’ expectations and provide services that under-promise and over-deliver. To achieve that, it’s important that we understand your group’s goals and anticipated outcomes for your program. To help our clients define, quantify, and communicate those goals and outcomes, we use the following program categories and descriptions to create a common language for discussion and to serve as a conceptual starting point for crafting a program that will meet the client’s goals and expectations.

Team Bonding

In a Team Bonding program, the primary goal is establishing and/or strengthening personal relationships within a team or group. In these types of programs, the emphasis is placed on fun, personal connection, and spending time together in a non-work atmosphere so that team members can get to know each other. Programs in this category are heavy on fun and activity, and very light on traditional team building activities. Mixers, ice-breakers, games, shared experiences, and other activities that foster connection between individuals are just some of the tools in a Team Bonding program. Team Bonding is often the starting point for Team Building and Team Development Programs. Recommended minimum duration for reaching your goals: 4 hrs. to 1 Day

Team Building

In a Team Building program, the primary goal is establishing and/or strengthening work connections and cultural dynamics, by developing a team-centered mindset and creating an atmosphere where trust, accountability, communication, shared decision-making, and the celebration of the diversity team members strengths and abilities is celebrated and expanded within a team or group. Using models, ideas and systems developed by renowned authors and teaches like Stephen Covey, Simon Sinek, and Bruce Tuckman, our team building programs seek to create relationship, strategies, ways of thinking, interacting, and problem solving that results in success that transfers into the school, team, church, organization, or work environment. Recommended minimum duration for reaching your goals: 1-3 Days

Team Development

In a Team Development programs, the primary goal is to expand upon and deepen the learning, growth, and connection experienced through Team Bonding and Team Building, and to dive more deeply into the group’s cultural dynamics, systems of communication, and ways of understanding, relating to, and valuing other team members. Team Development’s purpose is to take a deep dive into a team’s interpersonal and organizational relationships in order to uncover and address dynamics that may be hindering cohesion, efficiency, and group success. Team Development programs often utilize tools such as Disk, Meyers-Briggs, Birkman, other personality assessment systems, individual and group coaching, as well as ongoing monitoring and evaluation to accomplish the team’s goals and heighten team success. Recommended minimum duration for reaching your goals: 2-3 Days - Ongoing

Essential Elements Energizer

Group Sizes: 10-200 Possible Duration: 2-3 Hours

Price Range: Starts at $20 per person

Description:

Essential Elements Teasers are exactly as the name implies a shortened “teaser” version of our popular Essential Elements program. We have found that more and more of our corporate clients are looking for team building programs but simply do not have the time to devote to either a half day or full day program. Experiments with this program have provided return customers who were surprised at what we could do in a shortened time frame and are now looking for something bigger. Think of it as an appetizer for future programs and as a way to more clearly define future team building goals for your company.

Build It and Sell It

Group Sizes: 10-100 Possible Duration: 2-3 Hours

Price Range: Starts at $25 per person

Description:

Teams are tasked with creating a product mock up using supplies provided and then developing a commercial to sell their products. This multistage fun event creates opportunities for all types of people to step out of their normal roles and have some fun while examining the ways groups communicate and collaborate in any environment.

Coaster Challenge

Group Sizes: 10-100 Possible Duration: 2-3 Hours

Price Range: Starts at $30 per person

Description:

Ever wanted to build a roller coaster, now it’s your chance. Ok, so it’s only for marbles but it’s still fun. Using materials supplied teams design and build their own roller coaster to compete with other groups in creating the coolest ride ever! Teams collaborate in ways that are not typical for them which creates opportunities for groups to examine their brainstorming process as well as how they perform under pressure. The fun event combined with the expert facilitation and examination lead by our team creates an opportunity for teams to examine their approaches to work in a fun way.

Team Boat / Team Bridge

Group Sizes: 10-75 Possible Duration: 2-3 Hours

Price Range: Starts at $40 per person

Description:

In Team Boat and Team Bridge, groups are given materials, simple instructions, and a time limit. They then jump into the group dynamics of working as a team to produce a product that must meet the need for which it was designed! There is even a variation of Team Boat / Bridge that requires teams to finish what others have started, and leave their own project for someone else to finish! Team Boat/Bridge is an activity rich in learning potential and most often brings up discussions of leadership, strategy, resource allocation, problem-solving, responsibility to others and shared decision-making. It is a great standalone, half-day program, or as an add-in to a custom program. Team Boat/ Bridge is a portable program that can be brought to your location.

Chattanooga Challenge 

Group Sizes: 10-150 Possible Duration: 2-4 Hours

Price Range: Starts at $35 per person

Description:

The Chattanooga Challenge is a 2 hour photo based scavenger hunt centered on the downtown area of Chattanooga. Participants will compete to solve puzzles, complete physical challenges, and find special locations throughout the downtown all while documenting everything with team pictures. The basic challenge lasts 2 hours but can be customized with additional time as well as specialty challenges for an additional charge. This is a unique opportunity for groups to share both the joy of competition as well as the comradery of a shared experience while working on their problem solving and consensus building skills.

The Chase 

Group Sizes: 10-150 Possible Duration: 2-4 Hours

The Chase is a team adventure race that combines physical activities like running, climbing, paddling, and biking with the mental challenges of team building initiatives. It’s a perfect choice for those teams that have a mix of athletic and non-athletic members, since both groups have places where they can contribute significantly to team success. Discussions of personal value, roles and expectations, decision-making, and cooperation are inevitable. The Chase is semi-portable, and can be taken to retreat centers, parks, etc. where access to the necessary equipment is possible
