What do you mean by an Adventure?
Our friends at Webster’s Dictionary define adventure in many ways. One is “an exciting or remarkable experience.” This Is what the Adventure Guild aims to create for your group. We use outdoor-based experiential activities to develop a remarkable shared learning experience for your team.
I want to book a program; how do we start?
If you decide you would like us to craft a remarkable experience for your organization, all you need to do is complete the Request for Program Services (link) form on our website. A member of our team will then contact you to discuss possibilities and create a proposal outlining several options!
Where would my adventure take place?
The Adventure Guild’s programming “Home” is the Adventure Center at Camp Jordan in East Ridge, TN (just outside Chattanooga), and boasts a full complement of low and high ropes course elements and zip lines, along with tons of green space for team-building games and activities. We also host retreats at Signal Mountain Youth Camp in Signal Mountain, TN, and at Mt. TOP Camp in Altamont, TN.
In addition, depending on the type of experience you are looking for, we can also come to you!
How long would our adventure take?
Our adventure programs span the spectrum from 1-hour energizer programs to multi-day retreats and ongoing consulting.
What time of year can we go on an adventure?
We operate year-round, weather permitting, and we are flexible on the time of day your team wants to go adventuring.
Does my group need experience?
Nope, we can help your team learn anything they need to know for the activities you choose. If your group is more experienced, we can build on what you already know to create an appropriate adventure for your team.
What type of groups does The Adventure Guild work with?
Spanning our thirty-year history, we’ve routinely worked with many types of organizations, from church and school student groups to teams from Fortune 500 Companies. Regardless of what type of organization or team you have, we can craft the perfect adventure to help you reach your goals, whether that’s a simple day of fun or truly transformational learning experience.
How much do adventures cost?
Since each program is custom-designed and we offer a wide array of activity options this is a hard question to answer. The prices vary depending on the specifics of your group and the types of activities you are looking for. Prices are typically quoted on a per-person basis with a minimum charge.
What should I wear?
We firmly believe that there is no bad weather, just bad clothing choices. When you join us for an adventure, keep that in mind. Weather-appropriate, comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting a bit of dirt on is always good. The majority of your activities require closed-toed shoes. If you are unsure, just ask your program designer. And always remember your rain gear, just in case!
What should we bring?
What a group needs varies a bit with what they are doing, but we always start with weather-appropriate comfortable clothing, including rain gear, a water bottle, and snacks if you want them. We provide water but prefer that everyone bring their own bottles if possible to cut down on the garbage we create.
Who can participate?
The Adventure Guild works hard to design adventures that work for everyone in a group. However, there are age and size restrictions for specific activities and types of programs. These parameters and concerns are thoroughly discussed during the program planning phase. Matching the group’s needs and abilities with our program options is a key focus for our program designers, so you can rest easy knowing that the needs of your group will be met and taken seriously!
